Clear, white and coloured PVC
As PVC is inert and does not taint the contents, it is regularly used to make blood bags, drips and medical tubing. It was first synthesized from salt in 1835 and became a useful material from 1926 when plasticizers were added. Today its use is widespread across industry saving natural materials like wood for windows and door frames.
Strong, clear pvc is used for gel-filled folders in all shapes and sizes from CD holders to binders. Subtle effects can be achieved by screen printing. Black and white pvc is available in 30% recycled grades. White pvc is available for specialist 4 colour litho printing. Coloured pvc is used to produce binders and folders.
